NBA scores: Phoenix Suns fall to 1-2 on the season

A 40-point third quarter sparked the Magic's 115-94 win over the Suns on Sunday.

The Magic outscored the Suns 40-20 in the third quarter to extend a four-point halftime lead to 24 after three quarters and ultimately defeated Phoenix, 115-94, on Sunday.

Luis Scola led the Suns with 24 points on 10-19 shooting from the field in 32 minutes. Michael Beasley chipped in with 22 points while Marcin Gortat recorded his second consecutive double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Scola leads the Suns in scoring at 17.3 points per game while Gortat is averaging a team-high 12.0 rebounds. Goran Dragic is averaging 8.7 assists per game which ranks ninth in the league.

The loss dropped the Suns to 1-2 on the season, one game behind the 2-1 Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors.

After opening the season with three consecutive losses, the Los Angeles Lakers got their first win of the season versus the Detroit Pistons, 108-79, on Sunday.

At 0-3, the Sacramento Kings are in last place in the Pacific division.
