The Suns notched a win at home over the Hornets on Friday night, but saw their road woes continue as they lost to the 76ers in Philadelphia on Sunday.
The Phoenix Suns
started the weekend off on the right foot with a 111-108 overtime win over the New Orleans Hornets
on Friday night at US Airways Arena. Markieff Morris
punctuated a career-high 23 points with a three-pointer in overtime to seal the win for the Suns. As has often been the case with this year's Suns squad, the team had to rally from a 19-point third quarter deficit to tie the game at the end of regulation. The Hornets were paced by the stellar shooting or Ryan Anderson
, who scored a career-high 34 points and sank eight three-point baskets.
Phoenix (6-8) couldn't overcome a career-high 33 points from 76ers
guard Jrue Holiday
and lost 104-101 at the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday. The Suns had six players in double figures -- including 21 points from Michael Beasley
, 18 from Marcin Gortat
and 12 from Sebastian Telfair
off the bench -- but it wasn't enough to topple the 8-6 76ers. The road has been unkind to the Suns thus far, as the team has posted a 1-5 record away from US Airways Arena.
The Suns head to Cleveland on Tuesday to take on the Cavaliers
. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. MT and the game will be televised on Fox Sports Arizona.
