Phoenix is off to a mediocre start, and so is the rest of the conference.
The Phoenix Suns are to a 5-7 start, but that puts them just two games behind the fifth-place Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference standings. There are six teams between the Suns and the Warriors, and two others tied with Phoenix.
The Clippers are out to the early lead in the Pacific Division at 8-3. The Knicks, Bucks, Heat, Thunder, and Grizzlies are the other division leaders.
Memphis holds an 8-2 record and leads the Western Conference by percentage points over Oklahoma City and San Antonio. They are followed closely by the Clippers.
New York is tied with Memphis for the best record in the NBA, and holds the same lead over the Miami Heat in the East. Milwaukee, Charlotte, Brooklyn, and Atlanta all follow with identical 6-4 records.
