Suns Vs. Mavericks: Phoenix improves to 2-1 on the preseason

The Phoenix Suns beat the Dallas Mavericks 100-94 thanks to strong performances from Jared Dudley, Goran Dragic, Wes Johnson and Marcin Gortat.

The Phoenix Suns beat the Dallas Mavericks 100-94 Wednesday night, handing the Mavs their second loss of the NBA presason. Phoenix used a 32-point third quarter to take the lead in the second half and hang on for the win. They were outscored in each of the other three quarters.

The Suns are now 2-1 in the preseason, while the Mavericks drop to 2-2.

Phoenix was led by Jared Dudley, who shot 7-9 from the field and scored 16 points. Goran Dragic added 12 points and six assists, Wes Johnson added 11 points off the bench and Marcin Gortat had 10 points and six boards. Luis Scola put up nine points, four rebounds and four asissts, while Michael Beasley put up eight points, four assists and three steals.

Dallas was led by Chris Kaman, who put up 16 points. O.J. Mayo added 14, and Vince Carter put up 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench.
