Suns vs. Mavericks: Phoenix battles Dirk Nowitzki in preseason

Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Suns will look to win their second preseason game of the year on Wednesday night.

The Phoenix Suns will look to pick up their second win of the preseason on Wednesday night as they travel to Dallas to take on Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks.

Phoenix is transitioning to a new era of basketball in the desert. Steve Nash departed in the offseason for Los Angeles, prompting the team to draft Kendall Marshall to run the show at point guard. In addition to Marshall, look for Shannon Brown and Sebastian Telfair to also step up in the backcourt. Unfortunately for the Suns, both players have been banged up a bit in the preseason, and their status for Wednesday is not yet known.

Dallas lost multiple key players from their squad last season, including Jason Kidd and sixth man Jason Terry. Look for free agent guard O.J. Mayo to play a big role this year alongside Nowitzki.

Start Time:

Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. That's 5:30 p.m. in Arizona.

TV:

No national or local television provider will air the game.
