The Phoenix Suns lost their first preseason game to the Sacramento Kings. Wesley Johnson was the high scorer for Phoenix.

The Phoenix Suns fell behind the Sacramento Kings in the second half and lost, 102-96, in their first preseason game. The Kings led, 50-48, at halftime, and they led for almost the entire fourth quarter.

The Suns were led by Wesley Johnson off the bench with 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting, and Markieff Morris added 16 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-14 shooting. Among the Suns starters, Michael Beasley had 14 points, five assists and three rebounds to lead the Suns starting lineup. Marcin Gortat added nine points and seven boards, while Goran Dragic had nine points of his own. Jared Dudley added ten points and five rebounds, Luis Scola seven points and five rebounds.
