San Antonio Bench Spurs Win Over Nash-less Phoenix Suns, 114-97

The Phoenix Suns were actually up one point half way through the first quarter of this game. Then the substitutions came with George Hill coming in for the Spurs and Vince Carter in for the Suns. The quarter ended with San Antonio up 15.

With no Steve Nash, the Suns struggled to generate a consistent offensive flow in the first half. Grant Hill couldn't get his shot to fall. Marcin Gortat tried isolated but wasn't very effective. And while Aaron Brooks went 4-8 in the first half, his defense was so poor that it didn't matter. Defense in general was an issue as the Suns gave up a season-high 70 points in the first half.

The Spurs went cold in a the third quarter but had built up a 31 point margin and were easily able to weather the 21-point scoring quarter. San Antonio rolled home in the fourth and secured just their first win in six tries. With the loss, the Suns were official eliminated from the playoffs.

San Antonio got 73 points off their bench and 15 threes in the win.
