Shane Doan Chooses Phoenix Coyotes

Stay connected for news and updates

Shane Doan signed a 4-year, $21.2 million contract to stick with the Phoenix Coyotes. In addition to this contract, Doan receives $2 million in bonus money for the deal. Doan's agent Terry Bross has confirmed that his client has signed the contract and it's on its way to the NHL offices in New York.

Doan was reportedly choosing between two teams: Phoenix, and the Vancouver Canucks, with the issue with Phoenix being the trouble with the City of Glendale reneging on a lease agreement deal with future Coyotes owner Greg Jamison. Apparently Doan was convinced enough by Jamison that he still decided the Coyotes were the place to be.

During the 2011-12 season, Doan had his best output as a Coyote by totalling up 22 goals, 28 assists, and 50 points overall. Doan and the Coyotes would finish third in the Western Conference standings while winning their first division crown.
