Shane Doan Flees From Mantracker Realty TV Cowboy Dude

Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan traded in his skates this offseason to film an appearance in the Science Channel's reality show, Mantracker. Doan and his brother Brook take to the Chilcotin Mountains of Gold Bridge, BC to evade the mounted people hunter on a two-day trek.

If you've not seen the show, and really you should, it's features two contestants engaging in what we can only assume is a typical Canadian past time.

↵

The game involves a trained tracker, aka Mantracker, trying to chase down a pair of fleeing fools who are on foot.

↵

Mantracker (his real name doesn't matter) is a "highly trained forensic tracker" who wears a black cowboy hat and hipster silver beard. The "rabbits" are two people, normally Canadian people, drawn from all walks of life -- now including hockey.

↵

The show generally involves the following activities: trying without success to fool Mantracker by leaving misleading trails in the dirt; some mild conflict between the two rabbits (it is a Canadian show so don't expect Jersey Shore); hiding; running; more hiding; and at the end either one or both of the contestants reach their goal or Mantracker catches then and laughs heartily.

↵

The show airs at 7:00 p.m. local time on the Science Channel on Tuesday and then will repeat at least 35 times.

Here's a little tease of the show. Be careful, it's addicting...although I have no idea why.

In this clip there's an extended discussion about an air horn sounding like a deer. You can't get that kind of quality TV on Discovery Channel!
