We look at the Sunday early games.
Time to preview Week 6 of the NFL season gambling style. In Week 5 of breaking down the morning games I'm pretty sure I finished above .500 for the first time this season. Let's see if we can keep it rolling. The lines as always courtesy of Bovada.com.
The Bengals helped the Dolphins gain momentum last week and I think they help the Browns get their first win this week. Cincy lost Bernard Scott for the season, which hurts their running game. From Cleveland's perspective, Brandon Weeden keeps improving, and Trent Richardson continues to become more involved in the offense. Star corner Joe Haden also plays for the first time this season for the Browns.
Both the Jets and Colts surprised last week in their respective games. New York stayed close with the undefeated Texans and the Colts shocked the Packers. The Jets are really banged up across the roster. I'm taking the points and going with the healthier team in Indy.
The Raiders had two weeks to prepare for the Falcons and the Atlanta is coming off two lackluster performances they were able to win. Oakland's secondary can't hold up against Matt Ryan and crew. Falcons win by plus two touchdowns.
I'm expecting a big bounce back performance from Tony Romo after his five interception (not all his fault) game against the Chicago Bears. I'm still not a Ravens believer as discussed in my Monday morning column. I got the Boys pulling the upset.
Most interesting game of the week for me. The Lions are in desperation mode and the Eagles are the toughest team to get a read on in football. Philly matches up better with Detroit than Detroit matches up with Philly. Matt Stafford won't have enough time to throw and Shady McCoy has a breakout game. Eagles win by 10.
The Rams so far this season are 3-0 at home and 0-2 on the road. I don't see any reason why the pattern doesn't continue against a Dolphins team that has played surprisingly good football. Ryan Tannehill, Reggie Bush and the Miami defense carry the load as the Fins prove they are the second best team in the AFC East. I'm going with the favorites.
