Bowl projections 2012: Arizona State in Military, Arizona in New Mexico

Stephen Dunn

Both Arizona and Arizona State are projected to participate in bowl games in December.

Arizona is bowl eligible after a 56-31 win over Colorado on Saturday. The win improved the Wildcats to 6-4, and they are projected to participate in the New Mexico Bowl versus Nevada on Dec. 15, according to Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com.

SB Nation's Jason Kirk is also predicting a New Mexico Bowl appearance for the Wildcats, but he has them scheduled to play Fresno State instead of Nevada.

Arizona State fell to USC, 38-17, last Saturday, which dropped them to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the Pac-12. The Sun Devils have lost four games in a row and need to win one of their next two games at home versus Washington State and on the road against Arizona to become bowl eligible.

Arizona State is projected to play Louisiana-Lafayette in the Military Bowl on Dec. 27, according to Palm.

SB Nation is projecting that Arizona State will play Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl.
