Arizona Wildcats' Red Helmets Will Not Be Worn This Year, According To Greg Byrne

It was believed the Arizona Wildcats would be unveiling a new red helmet after running back KaDeem Carey posted a picture of one on Facebook, but they are just a conceptual design according to athletic director Greg Byrne. Here is the latest from Byrne's Twitter account:

There is always a chance that this is just a smokescreen from the athletic department and the UA will indeed be wearing these in 2012, but it doesn't seem likely. Kind of a bummer for those who liked the look, but I really wasn't too much of a fan.

Hopefully the Wildcats work up a deal to get completely new uniforms in the near future. I think that's something everyone can agree on.
