Pac-12 Tournament 2012: Arizona Wildcats Outworked In First Half, Trail Oregon State Beavers 34-27

Stay connected for news and updates

The Arizona Wildcats started off the game well, taking an early 10-2 lead in the opening minutes and eventually going up 23-14. Despite the strong start, the UA went cold from the field and began turning the ball over, which led to a 15-4 run from the Oregon St. Beavers. Solomon Hill picked up his third foul late in the half, Jesse Perry has two fouls himself and the 'Cats trail the Beavers by a score of 34-27.

Hill led the way with eight points, including two 3-pointers, but he also turned the ball over three times. Perry has six and senior guard Kyle Fogg has five points and five rebounds. Nick Johnson shot 1-for-6 in the first half and has just three points.

Jared Cunningham and Devon Collier both had 11 points for OSU, and the two combined to shoot 9-for-13 from the field. Roberto Nelson added five points off the bench, and as a whole the Beavers out-rebounded Arizona by a total of 20-11.

The fate of the Wildcats is looking pretty dark right now. Their best player is in foul trouble, the opposing team has more energy and they continue to turn the ball over at an alarming rate.
