Stay connected for news and updates

Excitement was palpable at the United Center in Chicago as the 2012 McDonald's High School All-American Game got underway Wednesday night, with Brandon Ashley and Grant Jerrett were on hand to represent the Arizona Wildcats upcoming freshman class. But it was Bishop Gorman's (Las Vegas, NV) Shabazz Muhammad who stole the show, taking MVP honors in the West squad's 106-102 victory.

The West got out to a 20 point lead in the second half, though the East fought back to get the game back to within four with under two minutes to play. They would eventually hold on to win by that margin, with MVP honors unanimously headed to Muhammad.

Muhammad finished with 19 points on the night, showing why he is the consensus No. 2 top recruit in the nation. Both Ashley and Jerrett got themselves a good share of minutes as well, helping the West team to victory.
