The Arizona Wildcats are looking for backup quarterbacks for Matt Scott after Daxx Garman and Tom Savage left the program.
The Arizona Wildcats have had a newsworthy offseason. They've seen a new head coach come into play who will bring in a new system. But while they have a veteran quarterback that's excited to play in this system, they now have no quarterback ready to back them up.
Ryan Finley of the Arizona Daily Star reports that the Wildcats are down to one QB on their depth chart, as both Daxx Garman and Tom Savage are on the way out of Tucson.
Freshman Daxx Garman left the program last week.
Today, junior Tom Savage informed coach Rich Rodriguez that he is leaving to be closer to family on the east coast. Savage, a Pennsylvania native who transferred from Rutgers University, tweeted this afternoon that "a cure for cancer needs to be found" but offered no further comment.
Savage told the UA's media relations department that the decision to transfer "is a personal decision about my family and not influenced by Coach Rodriguez or his style of play."
