Arizona Basketball Recruiting: Jabari Bird Visits Tucson, Comes Away Very Impressed

The Arizona Wildcats have landed the No. 1 recruiting class for 2012, but do not think for one minute the coaching staff is resting on the recruiting trail. While they have pretty much wrapped up everything for next year's team, the battle is on for the best players in the classes of 2013 and 2014.

Jabari Bird is one of those players. A player projected to be a small forward at the next level, Bird has the Wildcats at the top of his list for potential college choices. He recently visited Tucson and talked to PointGuardU about his visit.

"It was a great time, I liked the campus," he said. "The atmosphere was great. It's a basketball town and the fans are crazy about the team. Campus was cool too, Arizona seems like a really fun school to go to."

"Overall I was just trying to take it in and see what being there was like," Bird said. "I wanted to take a visit so I could get a feel for the school and see what they had to offer. It went really well."

Bird said what appealed to him most about Arizona was the coaching staff and style of play.

"Arizona has really great coaches, they improve you as a player and they genuinely want you to become a better player," he said. "I want to work hard and learn a lot and really get the best coaching for my game that I can."

The race to land Bird's services will be close throughout and Arizona and Washington are the leaders at this time. Originally from the Bay Area, every program on the west coast would love to land the 6'8 wing. With Sean Miller's recent success on the recruiting trail, Arizona fans have to feel good about their chances.
