With the news that Nick Foles intends on playing for the Wildcats in 2011, Arizona goes into their bowl matchup with Oklahoma State with an opportunity to focus on the task at hand. There are a lot of coaching changes in the offing for UA, but it doesn't seem to be affecting their preparation.
According to an article by Fox Sports Arizona, the coaches are going to be far more controlling and strict on this bowl trip than they were in 2010, a Holiday Bowl disaster that saw the Wildcats get shut out 33-0 by the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The Wildcats were 4-1 this season when they ran the ball over 35 times, showing that ball possession is a large part of Arizona's successes and failures. Another stat of note: The Wildcats went 1-4 when an Arizona QB attempted over 35 passes in the 2010 season. The only victory in that statistic came against Toledo, and it's likely that the Wildcats were just running up the score.
Look for a focused, humbled Arizona Wildcats team to show themselves on December 29 against the Oklahoma St. Cowboys. Since the Cowboys are talented athletically, the Wildcats will need to have execution on their side. Running the ball and limiting turnovers is the logical first step in that process.
