Can ASU Somehow Play In A Bowl Game?

The Arizona Republic has a report in today’s edition that says the Sun Devils have submitted a request to the NCAA Legislative Relief Committee to try to get a bowl waiver if ASU beats Arizona and gets a sixth win on Thursday.

The Devils had to get seven wins to assure themselves of a bowl because they played two FCS Subdivision teams, Portland State and Northern Arizona. They’re at five with one to go.

Well, it’s worth a shot, although it seems like a longshot. So is beating the Wildcats in Tucson. All the effort may be for nothing. The NCAA “Legislative Relief Committee?” Can we get one of those at the state capitol or in Washington D.C.?
