During his press conference on Monday, University of Arizona athletic director Greg Byrne felt it was necessary to update the media on the status of quarterback Matt Scott after he was injured on Saturday in the Wildcats' 66-10 blowout loss to the UCLA Bruins.

Scott did indeed suffer a concussion during the game.

Bryne wanted to end any speculation of Scott's status and referenced the pride Arizona finds in making sure it is "being as open and transparent as much as we can within privacy laws."

Scott is being evaluated daily and Arizona's medical staff will have the final say on whether or not he plays on Saturday against Colorado. His status will be available on the Thursday injury report.

If Scott does not play, B.J. Denker could start at quarterback for the Wildcats.

"We have all the confidence in B.J. There are a few things that he does do differently because he is a lefty. But we run a shotgun so it shouldn't affect us too much. He can direct our offense and make the plays."

Scott, a senior, has thrown for 2,848 yards with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season.
