Previewing this weekend's key Pac-12 matchup between Arizona and USC.

One of the year's bigger matchups in the Pac-12 South is set to hit Tucson this weekend. The Arizona Wildcats will host the USC Trojans, who enter the game ranked 9th in the latest BCS standings.

A win for UA likely pushes them back into the top 25 and keeps their chances alive for a division crown, while a win for USC only gets them closer to a possible national title appearance.

The Wildcats feature one of the nation's best offenses, averaging nearly 40 points a game. Their passing attack ranks 5th in the country, and their ground game puts them 35th in yardage. Arizona's downfall has been their defense; they've given up an average of 30 points this season, although they are coming off a very impressive performance against Washington in which they gave up just 17 points.

The Trojans are no slouches with the ball in their hands, either. Matt Barkley is leading the crew to an average of nearly 35 points per game, although they're yet to face very tough competition in 2012. If this team hopes to reach a BCS bowl game, they're really going to have to make a statement this weekend.

Game time, TV channel: 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC or ESPN2 depending on the region you live in.

Point spread: The Trojans opened as eight-point favorites. The line has since dropped to 6 1/2 points, according to Odds Shark.
