Prior to the start of tonight's game against the Cubs, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced that Paul Goldschmidt had been scratched from the starting lineup with a sore back. Taking his place would be first baseman, Mike Jacobs, Goldschmidt's main backup.
No word has been given as to the severity of the injury, but one could assume that with the Cardinals being up 5-1 might have something to do with Goldschmidt being replaced.
The lineup now looks as follows:
Adam Eaton
Mike Jacobs
