2012 MLB All-Star Game: Aaron Hill On Final Ballot For Fan Vote

The rosters for the 2012 MLB All-Star Game were released on Sunday afternoon, and the Arizona Diamondbacks had just one representative in the way of Wade Miley. There is no denying that Miley deserved his spot, but it was tough to see perennial stars such as Justin Upton and Miguel Montero miss out on the Mid-Summer Classic.

Each season, Major League Baseball announces the Final Vote for both the National League and American League teams. Aaron Hill was one of the five players on the ballot for the NL and could be voted into the game.

Who's his competition? And does he have much of a chance to win?

Hill will be going against Michael Bourn and Chipper Jones of the Braves, Bryce Harper of the Nationals and David Freese of the Cardinals. Voting has already begun; you can cast your vote here.

That's some awfully tough competition for the D-backs second baseman.

Chipper Jones is retiring at the end of the season, and it would be nice to see the future Hall of Famer play one final All-Star Game. Bryce Harper is one of the two 19-year-old phenoms taking over baseball his season. Freese will forever be a hero in St. Louis for his heroics in the playoffs last season. And Michael Bourn is probably the best leadoff man in baseball this season.

That being said, there's still plenty of time to vote for Hill, and he's certainly done his part to earn a selection to the team. His two cycles in June were a thing of history, and his bat has helped lead the D-backs back into contention in the NL West.
