J.J. Putz To Auction Off Rare Justin Bieber Trading Card For Charity

When pitcher Brad Ziegler came home from Texas with two boxes of trading cards, in no way did he think J.J. Putz would be donating the proceeds from one of the cards he found to Ziegler's charity. Well, that is exactly what is going to happen.

When Putz, Ziegler and teammate Craig Breslow were digging through their boxes, Putz pulled out a card that just so happened to be quite rare. No, it wasn't a Pokemon card or anything like that. In fact, it was a Justin Bieber card that was signed by the young pop sensation himself.

Through the Diamondbacks, Putz will now be selling off the valuable trading card to benefit Ziegler's 'Pastime for Patriots' charity and Breslow's 'Strike 3 Foundation'. 50% of the funds raised will go to each of the players. On top of that, all three of the players will match the high bid up to $2,500.

Here is what Putz had to say about the card via a team press release:

"Given the way I obtained this card, I think the only responsible course is to donate it to charity," said Putz. "I have the chance to raise money and awareness for two important causes. Besides, convincing my twin girls I was better off taking them to Justin Bieber's Believe Tour kickoff concert on Sept. 29 in Phoenix rather than keeping the card, put me in the running for father of the year."

If you are interested in placing a bid on the card, you can go here. Whether you just want to help a couple of very worthwhile charities or if you have the Bieber Fever, this is quite a good cause.

Oh, and check out this awesome picture. Amazing.
