Diamondbacks Sign Top Draft Picks, Mission Accomplished

The Arizona Diamondbacks completed a very successful 2011 MLB Draft on Monday when they reached agreement with almost all of their top picks. Trevor Bauer, third overall pick, had signed weeks ago and already has pitched a very successful 14 innings of minor league ball (1.93 ERA, 25 strike outs, 5 walks).

The D-backs can now add seventh overall pick Archie Bradley and sandwich round pick Andrew Chafin to a list that also includes third round pick Anthony Meo and every other pick selected before the tenth round with the exception of two. Matt Price (RHP, sixth round) and Ben Roberts (OF, seventh round) were not signed.

Bradley's deal is reported by the Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro to be worth $5 million spread over five years.

"We are ecstatic Archie is an Arizona Diamondback," said Vice President, Scouting and Player Development Jerry Dipoto. "This negotiation was the final piece of our plan for the 2011 draft, and we are thrilled we were able to complete the deal. We are extremely pleased with the talent we signed and consider this to be a very successful draft."

The announcements on Monday cap a very successful draft process for GM Kevin Towers and his team.

Below is the official list of all 2011 Draft Picks with those signed in bold.
