Kirk Gibson Not Happy With Diamondbacks' Play Despite Beating Giants (Video)

In his postgame remarks, Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson was not pleased with the way his team played in the face of their division rivals. He credited starting pitcher Ian Kennedy with a strong eight inning performance in the 3-2 win and of course, was pleased with Chris Young's two-run homer and Justin Upton's walk-off blast, but overall he was not a happy skipper.

"We didn't play good, but we won the game," Gibson said. "We're just talking about the fundamentals. Trust me, everybody's busting it. But it's unacceptable. Our approach with runners in scoring position is not even close to what it needs to be. We're 0-for-our-last -10. We're 3-for-21 this series. They've got good pitching, but we've got to change the way we approach those situations if we expect to be successful for the full season."

Gibby thought the team was a little tighter Thursday night, facing the possibility of a being swept at home by the Giants.
