Juan Gutierrez On DL With Shoulder, Zach Kroenke Recalled

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today they have recalled right-handed pitcher Zach Kroenke from Triple-A Reno and placed right-handed pitcher Juan Gutierrez on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President and General Manager Kevin Towers.

Kroenke, 27, was 4-0 with a 5.64 ERA (28 ER in 44.2 IP), 14 walks and 22 strikeouts in 8 starts for the Aces. His most recent start was on May 19 @ Albuquerque as he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks with 5 strikeouts over 7.0 innings but did not figure in the 3-2 loss. In 3 games (1 start) for the D-backs last season, he went 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA (5 ER in 6.2 IP), 4 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Gutierrez, 27, has a 5.40 ERA (11 ER in 18.1 IP) with 9 walks and 23 strikeouts in 20 games for the D-backs.
