The Arizona Cardinals squandered a strong start to their season and ended up as one of the four worst teams in the league according to SB Nation's power rankings.
The Arizona Cardinals surprised the NFL by starting 4-0. Among the last of the unbeaten teams, they seemed to be the most vulnerable. Then they lost nine straight games and 10 of their last 11 to finish 5-11, taking that vulnerability to a whole new level. And in doing so, their short stint in the top 10 of Joel Thorman of SB Nation's NFL power rankings culminates with the Cardinals finishing the regular season ranked No. 29, only ahead of the lowly Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs.
Unfortunately for Arizona, Thorman feels they can't do much better than Ken Whisenhunt on the head coaching market and doesn't see many attractive options to replace him. The Cardinals still have some talent on their roster to build on, but they just need to figure out the quarterback situation and move on from there.
At least they can be excited about another high draft pick.
