After earning the starting quarterback spot during the preseason, Skelton will now have to watch his team from the sidelines.
With Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton out with an ankle injury, the Cardinals are now calling around to see what quarterbacks might be available, according to a tweet from Adam Caplan.
The likes of David Garrard and Vince Young are looking for work after being released by their respective teams during the offseason and could both be worth looks if the Cardinals want to go that route. They could also possibly look into trading for a quarterback as well.
Skelton's absence puts a major dent in the Cardinals' quarterback depth with only Kevin Kolb and Ryan Lindley left to pick up the slack. The Cardinals almost went with just the two of them, but decided against it and are now looking to add another quarterback into the mix.
Skelton could miss several weeks if it is determined that his ankle injury is a high ankle sprain.
