Arizona Cardinals Sign James Sanders

The Arizona Cardinals had been pursuing safety James Sanders, including hosting him a few days ago. The free agent safety had spent his last season with the Atlanta Falcons, but his best days are behind him.

It appears they made enough of an impression for Sanders to make a deal with Arizona. He tweeted the following earlier.

How Sanders fits into Arizona's overall picture is uncertain. Sanders hasn't really played special teams and Hamza Abdullah remains unsigned. It's unclear whether Sanders will be devoted to either special teams or whether his primary job will be to fill in a position on the two-deep at safety. It's unclear how he'll be used defensively, as the Cardinals have only used three safeties in their rotation really the past couple of years
