All eyes in the NFL world are on the Peyton Manning sweepstakes with as many as a dozen teams expressing interest in the future hall of fame quarterback. Early rumors have mentioned Miami, Washington, Arizona, New York and Seattle as potential landing spots, but one of those teams appears to believe they are out of the running.
Pro Chris Russell of ESPN 980 in Washington recently reported that Washington doesn't appear to be a likely destination for Manning for a variety of reasons. Most notably seem to be the potential cold weather gameday environment in Washington as well as the proximity to brother Eli Manning in New York.
The weather piece would certainly seem to bode well for the Cardinals but Russell also cited the situation in Miami being ideal and that being a big reason that Washington doesn't appear likely. Manning recently stated his intention to make a decision within a week so it doesn't appear that the process is going to drag out long, but there are certainly going to be more than a few rumors between now and then.
