NFL Free Agency: Source Says RB Michael Bush To Work Out For Arizona Cardinals

The beginning of free agency has commenced for the NFL, and rumors already have begun to swirl. The Arizona Cardinals have not made any moves other than to release tackle Levi Brown. However, a source reveals that the Cardinals are going to work out a player that perhaps will surprise fans.

This source indicates that running back Michael Bush, formerly of the Oakland Raiders, is headed to Arizona to have a workout with the Cardinals.

Bush had been the backup running back to Darren McFadden, but got plenty of playing time last season when McFadden was out with injuries. He rushed for 977 yards, averaging 3.8 YPC and caught 37 passes. He scored eight TDs, seven on the ground.

Whether the Cardinals are interested in signing Bush is another question. It is intriguing that he would be a target of the Cardinals. They seem pretty set at running back, although there are some questions. Beanie Wells had a career year, but has had offseason knee surgery. Ryan Williams, the team's second round pick from a year ago, missed the entire season with a knee injury. LaRod Stephens-Howling is a restricted free agent, but the Cardinals have offered a second-round tender, so he is unlikely to go anywhere. The fourth back on the roster, Alfonso Smith, is liked by the coaching staff and contributes on special teams.

Could Michael Bush be in the mix this season for the Cardinals? We will see.
