Michael Floyd 'a lot more comfortable' in starting role

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd feels that he could certainly get used to this whole starting thing.

Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Michael Floyd is feeling "a lot more comfortable" after earning his first NFL start in last Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Jets, according to the team's website.

Floyd stepped up in the place of an injured Andre Roberts (ankle) and caught two passes for 22 yards. But when you factor in that QB Ryan Lindley only had 10 completions for a total of 72 yards, those numbers aren't that terrible.

Here's what Floyd told the media about his big break:

"It's just a different mindset knowing you're going to play," Floyd said. "You're paying more attention to detail and just making sure you stay mentally sound, making sure you don't make any mistakes. For the most part, that's what I'm doing. I feel a lot more comfortable."

And with Roberts listed as questionable for Sunday's tilt against the Seattle Seahawks, it's quite possible that Floyd gets the call once again.

The 2012 13th overall pick has been a disappointment with Arizona's QB carousel throwing to him this season as he's only racked up 26 receptions for 282 yards and one touchdown on the year. Floyd has shown a bit of chemistry with Sunday's starter John Skelton in the past, though, with 26 of his 54 targets coming in the six games Skelton has played.
