Darnell Dockett apologized to Kerry Rhodes for disagreement

The two Arizona Cardinals defensive leaders have made up after an argument further soured the team's 7-6 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.

Arizona Cardinals Darnell Dockett and Kerry Rhodes have made up after an argument between the two defensive stars highlighted an already-ugly loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.

One report indicated that Dockett spit on Rhodes while the two argued over whether or not the Cardinals should give up a quick score to allow the offense to get the ball back late in the game. Rhodes, through a statement, denied that happened, and on Wednesday Dockett told Darren Urban of the team blog that all had been forgiven.

"Me and Kerry had a very heated argument, at a very heatful time in the game and there were things between me and him," Dockett said. "I apologized to Kerry. Kerry forgave me. That's it. It was a situation we totally didn't agree on. So at the end of the day we did what was best to give our team the chance to win. That's it. I look at Kerry as one of my brothers, I respect him and we had a disagreement. We move on from that."

Arizona ended up losing 7-6 to the Jets. Dockett said Wednesday he didn't know whether he would be punished for the incident, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt told the media after the game that it'd be handled internally.

Regarding the actual reason for the argument on Sunday, Dockett said that allowing an opponent to score was something he doesn't believe in. He added that he had no issue with anyone on the Arizona team.
