The Cardinals have added Mike Gibson for the second time in a week.
Mike Gibson has had a whirlwind week with the Arizona Cardinals, and it continued on Monday as the team re-signed the offensive lineman and cut defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin. Gibson signed with Arizona last week, before getting cut on Saturday in favor of adding Lumpkin to the active roster from the practice squad. Lumpkin will likely return to his spot there.
Gibson has not appeared in an NFL regular season game this season. He played from 2009 to 2011 with the Seattle Seahawks, amassing 20 games and eight starts. All of those starts came in 2010, when Gibson had his best year with 14 games played.
The fourth-year veteran was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round out of Cal, and then spent training camp this past offseason with the team. He was released on Aug. 31 after playing in three preseason games with the Eagles.
The Cardinals finally snapped a long losing streak on Sunday by defeating the Lions, and will be looking for a second-straight win in Week 16 when facing the Bears.
