Cardinals vs. Lions score update: Arizona, Detroit scoreless through 1 quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

The Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions are both playing for pride late in the season, and so far the two teams are scoreless through one quarter from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

As the score -- or lack thereof -- would indicate, there wasn't a whole lot of offense in the opening 15 minutes. In fact, the closest either team got to the opposing end zone was on the opening drive of the game when the Cardinals made it to the Detroit 38 before having to punt.

Since that drive, it has been three-and-out at best for both teams, with Ryan Lindley also throwing an interception.

Through one quarter, Lindley is 5-7 passing for 40 yards, though that has of course not amounted to much. His Detroit counterpart, Matthew Stafford, has fared even worse. He is just 3-9 for 32 yards, though he has yet to turn the ball over.

The Cardinals have also been hampered by four penalties in the early going, costing them 35 yards.
