In a week that turned the NFL upside down, many of the scores reflected what we already knew about the league — anything can happen on any given Sunday, including nearly everything that's supposed to.
Week 9 in the National Football league sent a lot of fans away scratching their heads following a week that cost the sportsbooks in Las Vegas a lot of money.
That's because seven favorites out of 14 games played going into Monday night have won, and they just happened to be games popular with bettors. The Arizona Cardinals were in one of those lopsided affairs that featured the favored Green Bay Packers prevailing.
The Packers destroyed the Cardinals in nearly every facet of the game as they rolled to a win at Lambeau Field, 31-17. Aaron Rodgers showed glimpses of his MVP-self from a season ago, as he threw four touchdown passes on the day. John Skelton threw for 306 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Up north, the division rival Seattle Seahawks stayed in the hunt for the NFC West division crown, gaining ground on the Cardinals with a win at Century Link Field over the Minnesota Vikings, 30-20. Defense was the story of that game, as the defense had one interception, one forced fumble, and four sacks.
Both the San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams were idle in Week 9 with each team having its bye week.
