The New York Jets will likely be without wide receiver Clyde Gates (concussion) on Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals.
The Arizona Cardinals, losers of seven straight games, travel to New York this weekend to take on the Jets at MetLife Stadium. New York has had a few extra days to prepare and rest for Sunday's contest after getting blown out on Thanksgiving night by the New England Patriots. Perhaps as a result of the extra days, the Jets list only one player as "doubtful" for Sunday's game: wide receiver Clyde Gates, suffering from a concussion.
The Jets wide receiver corps is already thin, so the loss of Gates would be a blow to struggling NY quarterback Mark Sanchez. Jeremy Kerley and even Joe McKnight would absorb some of Gates' snaps if he is indeed out of Sunday's game.
Backup quarterback Tim Tebow has been limited in practice this week with a rib injury. If Tebow cannot play, Greg McElroy will be activated and serve as the backup to Sanchez. Other Jets listed as questionable for Sunday include cornerback Aaron Berry, linebacker Ricky Sapp and defensive tackle Sione Po'uha.
Kickoff between the Cardinals and Jets will be at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday.
