Arizona Cardinals hoping to 'tweak' the team in first game after bye

Benny Sieu-US PRESSWIRE

The Arizona Cardinals lost five straight games before their bye week last week, and will try to shake things up this Sunday against the Falcons.

The Arizona Cardinals entered their bye week at 4-5 after starting the season 4-0, and the team is hoping that some tweaks done during the bye will have positive results when the Cardinals face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Safety Kerry Rhodes spoke plainly about the need to change things up:

“When you are going through a funk like we are, you have to find answers to make it right,” safety Kerry Rhodes said. “If that is changing players, if that is changing staff – that happens sometimes – that’s the league. It’s all about change. They will find someone to do the job.”

The Cards will have to travel east to Atlanta for the game, where they'll face a Falcons team that just lost their first game of the season. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said that the team was a little healthier than they were entering the bye, but did not get into any specifics regarding the injury situation.

A big issue for the Cardinals during their losing streak has been quarterback play. Kevin Kolb hasn't played since injuring his ribs against the Bills, and John Skelton has been poor in relief. Skelton is completing 55 percent of his passes for 1052 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions this year.
