Todd Heap said he is hopeful he will be able to return to action this week.

After missing the last three games while dealing with a knee injury, Arizona Cardinals tight end Todd Heap said he is hoping to return to action this week.

While appearing on the Burns & Gambo radio show on Sports 620, Heap said his recovery was coming along and he was hopeful he'd be able to play against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

"I'm feeling a lot better," Heap said. "I'm going to test it all week and I'm hoping to be out there this week."

The Cardinals played on Thursday last week and Heap said the short week hindered his ability to get back on the field. He said he's looking to participate in a few back-to-back practices then see how he feels. If Heap is able to return, he might be able to help a Cardinal offense which struggled last week.

Heap said the offense is looking to get back on track this week and said the recent offensive line struggles come down to each individual being able to get their job done. Those struggles led to quarterback Kevin Kolb being sacked nine times against the St. Louis Rams. While some, including Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Tommy Kelly, have questioned Kolb's toughness in the past, Heap said that has never happened inside the Cardinals' locker room.

"I don't think anybody in our locker room has every questioned his toughness."
