Ryan Williams was helping out his Arizona Cardinals teammates by stepping into the hole left by running back Beanie Wells. Wells is out with turf-toe and will be ineligible to return until Nov. 25. Williams' good deed earned him an early exit from the season and a trip to the operating table.
In the Oct. 4 game against the St. Louis Rams, Williams sustained an injury to his left shoulder. Initially the injury was not thought to be serious; however, physicians have determined Williams will require surgery. Kent Summers tweeted the surgery would take place on Tuesday.
