Buffalo Bills injury report: Defensive end Mark Anderson out, line depth getting thin

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson has been ruled out for a "significant" amount of time, leaving the team with just three healthy defensive ends.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson will be out against the Arizona Cardinals for Sunday's game at University of Phoenix Stadium, and the seven-year pro could be out for a "significant" amount of time, general manager Buddy Nix told the team website.

Anderson has 12 tackles and one sack so far this season. He hurt his knee against the San Francisco 49ers last week.

The loss brings the number of defensive ends on the Buffalo roster down to three. Former first-overall pick Mario Williams, Kyle Moore and Chris Kelsay will be available for the Bills on Sunday.

The defensive line will also only have three available tackles on the roster. Spencer Johnson didn't travel with the Bills, leaving Alex Carrington, Marcell Dareus and Kyle Williams as the only bodies in the interior for coach Chan Gailey.

The Bills have struggled on the defensive front line despite spending heavily in that regard this offseason. Buffalo has given up 52 and 45 points the past two games, and being in the bottom third in both passing and rushing yardage allowed is good news for a Cardinals offensive line that is struggling.
