Arizona Cardinals, Rookie Tight End Rob Housler Agree To Four-Year Contract

Stay connected for news and updates

The Arizona Cardinals have signed third-round draft pick Rob Housler to a four-year contract. The exact terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Housler was the Cardinals' third-round pick and the 69th selection overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. He played for Florida Atlantic in college, becoming only the fourth tight end in school history to amass over 1,000 total receiving yards. In his senior year, Housler grabbed 39 receptions for 629 yards and four touchdowns. He was named a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection.

Though Housler has signed a contract, the status of fellow rookies Patrick Peterson (first-round pick, fifth overall) and Ryan Williams (second-round pick, 38th overall) remains in question as they have yet to agree to contract terms with the Cardinals.

According to Kent Somers of AZ Central, though, it looks like Patrick Peterson is set to sign a contract with the Cardinals within the next 24 hours.
