The Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzergerald wins the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award. But what's odd about that?

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was awarded the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award after his performance against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. It's about time.

Yes, arguably the best wide receiver in the league has never won the award until now. That just seems like a small-scale travesty.

Nevertheless, Fitzgerald's seven catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the Cardinals' improbable comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles were more than enough to add yet another accolade to his illustrious career. Fitz made at least three remarkable catches in the game including one late that gave the Cardinals a first and goal from the one that they turned into the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The last Cardinals wide receiver to win the award was Roy Green on November 13, 1988 and the last Cardinal to win the award was Kurt Warner in Week 13 of the 2009 season. Ironically enough, Fitzgerald passed Green in this game to take over the franchise-led for most career touchdowns (70) as a Cardinal.

We'd like to say this won't be Larry's last Offensive Player of the Week Award, but given how long it's taken to get this one, who knows?

Here's video of one of Fiztgerald's two touchdown receptions from the game.
