Seahawks Vs. Cardinals 2012: Game Preview, Kickoff Time, TV Schedule And More

It will be John Skelton at the helm when the Arizona Cardinals host the Seattle Seahawks to open the 2012 NFL season at University of Phoenix Stadium at 1:25 ET on Sunday.

Skelton won't be met with much fanfare as neither he nor Kevin Kolb were solid enough to win the No. 1 quarterback job early on in training camp. It took until after the final preseason game to determine that it would be the third-year man out of Fordham University under center to begin the season.

Even more intriguing will be how the Cardinals' offense will fare against Seattle's defense, which figures to be much-improved as it will be led by veteran Chris Clemons and anchored by a strong secondary. Further limiting the effectiveness of the Arizona offense will be the injuries to running backs Ryan Williams and Beanie Wells, who each had offseason knee surgeries.

Seattle rookie quarterback Russell Wilson will also have a lot on his shoulders as Seattle's leading rusher Marshawn Lynch is listed as questionable due to back spasms. If Lynch misses the contest, then it will make life difficult for the former Wisconsin Badger and give the Cardinals a distinct advantage.
