The 2012 European Ryder Cup team should prove a stiff test for the Americans at Medinah.

Winners of five of the last six Ryder Cups, the 2012 European team is once again chock full of talent as they look to lock down the victory this year at Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago.

Captain José María Olazabál has four of the top five golfers in the world in Rory McIlory, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and Justin Rose on his squad, though the Europeans are bringing firepower top-to-bottom this year. Sergio Garcia is back after missing the team in the last Ryder Cup, Graeme McDowell returns after clinching victory for Europe in 2010 at Celtic Manor, and Ryder Cup rookie Nicolas Colsaerts is a dangerous player as well.

Here is the complete European team:

  • Nicolas Colsaerts
  • Luke Donald
  • Sergio Garcia
  • Peter Hanson
  • Martin Kaymer
  • Paul Lawrie
  • Graeme McDowell
  • Rory McIlory
  • Francesco Molinari
  • Ian Poulter
  • Justin Rose
  • Lee Westwood

The 2012 Ryder Cup gets underway Friday morning with the start of foursome action.
