As one of seven Americans in the top 10 following the second round of the Tour Championship, Jim Furyk is holding on to a one-stroke lead atop the tournament leaderboard following his 6-under score Friday.
Furyk, who is sitting at seven-under overall, birdied seven of his first 10 holes before racking up three bogeys on his final eight. Justin Rose, who was tied for the lead after Thursday, settled back into second place after totaling five birdies and one bogey on the back nine.
Americans Bubba Watson and Bo Van Pelt both finish with a 5-under, which is good enough to be tied for third heading into Saturday's third round.
Arizona State alum Phil Mickelson has yet to make any noise following Friday's score of one-over. Mickelson is now even overall through two rounds with two birdies Friday against a double bogey and a bogey.
