FedEx Cup Standings 2012: Rory McIlroy Leads, Phil Mickelson Makes Top 5

Stay connected for news and updates

The FedEx Cup standings are in place, with the top 30 golfers moving on to play in the Tour Championship. Rory McIlroy enters in first place after a win at the 2012 BMW Championship, and Tiger Woods's fourth place finish in the tournament was enough to move him into second place. Nick Watney takes third, followed by former ASU standout Phil Mickelson.

There are a number of Arizona golfers in the top 30, as well as number who fell short. Scottsdale residents Robert Garrigus and Ryan Moore both made the cut, coming in at No. 20 and 28, but their fellow Scottsdale residents Kevin Stadler, Pat Perez, Tim Clark and Martin Laird all failed to advance. Stadler came the closest, entering the BMW Championship 34th in the standings, but a 45th-place finish in that tournament meant he failed to capitalize.

The Tour Championship begins Sept. 17. For full FedEx Cup standings, check out Golf.com.
