2012 PGA Championship Prize Money: Phil Mickelson Lands $34,750

Phil Mickelson had himself quite a nice paycheck at the 2012 PGA Championship. It's far from his best performance ever; he finished at +3 on the tournament and +2 on his final round. But he still finished in a tie for 36th to earn $34,750 from the proceedings.

Among local Arizona golfers, Pat Perez was the top finisher with a tie for 21st, which landed him $72,667. Martin Laird and Jim Furyk tied for 42nd and earned $25,750 on his own. Chez Reavie finished tied for 62nd and earned $15,650. Kevin Stadler, Martin Kaymer, Marty Jertson, Michael Frye, Michael Thompson, and Paul Casey didn't end up making the cut, so they earn no part of the PGA Championship purse and leave the week with no prize money.

A breakdown of the rest of the purse -- without ties -- can be found here.

2012 PGA Championship: Rory McIlroy Cruises To Title, Phil Mickelson Finishes 36th

Rory McIlroy completely dominated the 2012 PGA Championship, winning the event while shooting a -6 on Sunday to improve to -13 overall. He broke Jack Nicklaus' record for the largest win at the tournament while finishing eight strokes better than David Lynn. McIlroy only needed 24 puts on 18 greens, propelling him to the second major championship of his career.

Lynn finished in second place at -5 overall. Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley, Ian Poulter and Carl Pettersson tied for a third place finish at -4. Tiger Woods ended his event with a fourth-round par (72), keeping him at -2 through four days of action.

Phil Mickelson, who played his collegiate golf at Arizona State University, shot a +2 in the fourth and final round, dropping him to +3 overall and a tie for 36th place. It wasn't the finish Mickelson was hoping for after two strong days to start the event, but a respectable finish nonetheless.

PGA Championship Leaderboard 2012: Tiger Woods Sliding As Round 3 Continues

As the leaders approach completion of the back nine, there have been some big changes on the leaderboard at the 2012 PGA Championship. He's currently tied for the lead with Rory McIlroy, who has moved up the rankings after shooting 4-under on the front nine. Pettersson is holding on in fourth, even through eight holes, but Tiger Woods has struggled and slid into a tie for 11th place. Woods had a bogey on holes four, give and six, placing him 3-over through seven.

PGA Championship 2012: Tee Times And Pairings For Saturday Delayed

If Joost Luiten was looking to make a name for himself, this was certainly not the way to do it. On Friday at the 2012 PGA Championship in South Carolina, Luiten chose to delay the 18th hole of his second round until the following day, citing darkness. Officially, the second round is not yet complete and the third round on Saturday will not begin exactly as scheduled.

Luiten had shot a 5-over through his first 17 holes on Friday and was likely not feeling extremely confident as he headed to the final green. Still, this remains a curious move.

What this ultimately means is that the tee times for Saturday's scheduled third round in South Carolina cannot -- and will not -- be released until all golfers finish their second round.

Luiten will return to play his 18th hole at 4:30 a.m. PT. The tee times for the full third round on Saturday will be released about an hour later.

You can watch Saturday's third round both on television and online. Check out all the relevant viewing information below.

PGA Championship Results: Tiger Woods Shares Lead At End Of Second Round

The first two rounds of the 2012 PGA Championship in South Carolina are in the books as of Friday. Tiger Woods, who entered the tournament as the odds-on favorite to win, is holding a share of first place, shooting a 1-under in his second round to finish at 4-under for his first two rounds.

Also holding a share of the lead is Vijay Singh, who shot a terrific 3-under on the day to jump a full 31 spots on the leaderboard. Carl Pettersson entered the day all alone atop the leaderboard, but Friday's 2-over round sank him into the three-way tie. Ian Poulter is alone in fourth place at 3-under, while Rory McIlroy and Jamie Donaldson are in a tie for fifth place at 2-under. McIlroy's second round was was less than ideal, at 3-over.

2012 PGA Championship, Leaderboard Update: Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh Charging On Friday

A pair of former winners are making a charge at Kiawah Island on Friday as most of the leaders are still waiting to start their second round of the PGA Championship.

Two-time PGA champ Vijay Singh and 2005 champ Phil Mickelson are having nice rounds at the Ocean Course on Friday, with Vijay firing a 3-under 69 to move two back of the leader at 4-under for the week. Mickelson is 2-under on his round, currently playing the 16th hole.

Conditions in the afternoon are expected to be tougher, so these guys might be positioned even better by day's end.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are both looking for another solid round, each just getting their day started. As is leader Carl Petterson, who is hoping to hang on to the lead heading into Saturday.

2012 PGA Championship: TV Schedule, How To Watch Online And More

With the start of the 2012 PGA Championship on Thursday at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, names like Tiger Woods, Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson will be vying for the title of PGA champion. But you wont be able to know what happens unless you tune in to find out.

Keegan Bradley took home the Wanamaker trophy in 2011 at the Atlanta Athletic Club, though the field will face a much different test of golf at the Ocean Course, similar to 2010 PGA Championship locale Whistling Straights, only on the shores of the South Carolina coast instead of the shores of Lake Michigan.

The TNT Network will have coverage of first round action from 1-7 p.m. ET on Thursday, with streaming abilities available via PGA.com. You can also follow along with statistics and the full leaderboard at pgatour.com.

PGA Championship Odds 2012: Phil Mickelson at 40/1; Tiger Woods Favorite at 8/1

Phil Mickelson has had a quiet 2012 season so far, and if the odds makers on the 94th PGA Championship have anything to say about it, it will continue to be quiet for a bit. Mickelson comes into Kiawah Island's Ocean Course at long 40-to-1 odds.

Mickelson isn't the only big name with big numbers next to his name. The odds makers are heavily betting on Tiger Woods to end his championship drought and have bestowed upon him the overwhelming favorite at 8-to-1 odds.

The next closest are Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald at 18-to-1 each. Lee Westwood is the only other golfer at less than 20-to-1 odds.

2011's winner Keegan Bradley (Wood's tee-partner) comes in at 33-to-1. The odds don't have too much faith in the three major winners so far this season with Webb Simpson at 33-to-1, Bubba Watson at 40-to-1 and Ernie Els at a borderline forgotten 50-to-1.

Arizona favorite Jim Furyk, who is paired with McIlroy, is sitting at a somewhat pretty 40-to-1 odds as well. Marty Jertson, who resides in Phoenix, and Michael Frye, who was born in Sedona, have the distinction of being tied with two others for the worst odds in the tournament at 5,000-to-1. Good luck Marty and Michael.
