The Arizona Cardinals severed ties with more than a dozen players, some which were a surprise, as they made moves to set their roster at 53 players as required by the NFL. The following players were the ones released from the team:

  • LB Antonio Coleman
  • S Blake Gideon
  • LB Clark Haggans
  • G Russ Hochstein
  • DT Ricky Lumpkin
  • LB Colin Parker
  • CB Larry Parker
  • WR DeMarco Sampson
  • TE Steve Skelton
  • RB Alfonso Smith
  • LB Quan Sturdivant
  • DE Ronald Talley
  • DE Everrette Thompson
  • TE Martell Webb
  • C Scott Wedige
  • WR Isaiah Williams
  • OT D.J. Young

They placed Richard Bartel on injured reserve for his shoulder he hurt on Thursday, running back Javarris James with a knee injury and waived/injured LB Brandon Williams and WR Stephen Williams.
