Cardinals Update: Ryan Lindley to Start Thursday vs. Broncos

Stay connected for news and updates

Ryan Lindley will start the Arizona Cardinals' final preseason game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday.

The decision to start Lindley comes as the Cardinals are still looking for a resolution to their search for a starting quarterback. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt has said that the decision on who will start Week 1 between John Skelton and Kevin Kolb has yet to be made and will be determined in practice.

"As far as evaluation of the quarterbacks, in trying to make it a level playing field as for the number of reps and who they're playing against, I don't know how much that would serve with John or Kevin out of this game," said Whisenhunt.

Neither Skelton nor Kolb is expected to make an appearance in the final game, as Denver will likely withhold most of its starters from the contest. Though there has been a lot of speculation on who the frontrunner is, there has been no official word from the coaching staff as to who will win the job.
